FAQs to The Taste of Argan Oil

What is the difference between Moroccan Oil and Argan Oil?

There is no difference! They are the same thing, marketed under different names.

What does culinary gourmet Argan Oil taste like?

Culinary gourmet Argan Oil has a unique nutty flavour that some say has a hint of sesame, hazenut and smoky flavour. Taste palates vary, so why not order a FREE sample of culinary gourmet Argan Oil to discover the taste for yourself?

What are the differences between the classic Argan Oil and the traditional Argan Oil?

Our Classic Argan Oil is crafted using a mechanical press and so the taste is smokier than the Traditional variety. Our Traditional Argan Oil is made using a traditional stone-mill press and so the taste is deeper and nuttier than our Classic Argan Oil.

How do I store Argan Oil?

Store the Argan Oil at room temperature, out of the way of any sunlight. There is no need to put them in the fridge.

How fresh is the Argan Oil?

We buy from our partner women cooperatives every few months to ensure that the Argan Oil spends most of its shelf-life with you.

Where do you source the Argan Oil?

We exclusively buy from two women cooperatives in Morocco, who we believe have the best tasting Argan Oil, working and hygiene conditions.

How do you support the partner women cooperatives?

We support them by sharing our profits and launching Crowdfunding events to buy items that they are in need of, for example, medication and subscription glasses.

How do I use the gourmet Argan Oil?

Argan Oil is a versatile nutty drizzling oil. We enjoy the Argan Oil’s unique taste on steak, fish or salad. Due to the nature of Argan Oil, it is not advised to heat the oil, since this removes the distinct flavour and the oil's health benefits.

Is culinary Argan Oil a health boost?

Argan Oil has a high dietetic value due to its unparalled high level of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and diunsaturated fatty acids (DUFAs) high level (oleic and linoleic acid). Indeed, the beneficial effect, on the human serum lipids, of MUFAs and DUFAs is now well documented in scientific papers. Consequently, oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids are largely recommended as substitutes to saturated fatty acid-containing fats in industrialised countries. In addition, Argan Oil is rich in phytosterol and when incorporated in meals is supposed to support a healthy immune system.

What does Vitamin E do for me?

Vitamin E (Tocopherol) acts as an antioxidant, helps with lipid balance, supports a healthy immune system, heart and circulation. There are two major forms of Vitamin E - alpha and gamma tocopherol. Gamma tocopherol protect against nitrogen-based free radicals, which play an important role in chronic inflammation. Vitamin E also stimulates oxygeneration in cells, where the skin becomes more elastic, smooth and shiny through the restoration of the skin cells' hydrophillic layer.

What do unsaturated fatty acids do for me?

Unsaturated fatty acids are associated with cardioprotective qualities and promote cell hydration to make the skin well mosturised, revitalised and nourished.

How much of the beauty Argan Oil do I need?

With the beauty Argan Oil, less is more. Simply apply a drop or two of Argan Oil onto the desired area and rub it in or add a few drops into the palm of your hand and rub the Argan Oil onto the ends of your hair. We have found it particularly effective in treating scars and burns (a Berber secret!).
